Chapter 78

Chapter 78: A Drama of Joys and Sorrows (Part Three)

Dawn was breaking, and the room was dimly lit.

Someone was moving quietly, hardly making any noise.

Suddenly, he felt that unusually familiar aura approaching, and then his forehead was lightly brushed, like a

gentle breeze. A wave of comfort washed over his heart. Feng Lan slowly opened his eyes, and a dark figure

immediately came into view. After a moment of daze and adjusting, he finally saw Si Cang Qing's face, his cold

eyes faintly revealing a hint of worry.

In a daze, Feng Lan heard the other person's deep voice ringing in his ears, "Awake?"

"Master..." Feng Lan's voice was slightly hoarse as he called out softly, his mind instantly clearing, "Are you

leaving?"

"Mm." Si Cang Qing responded affirmatively, but did not move, merely gazing at the other person calmly.

Feng Lansui quickly got up, smiling gently as usual, "Master, let me see you off."

Si Cang Qing fixed his gaze on Feng Lan. When the latter noticed his gaze, he merely turned his face slightly

away in discomfort and proceeded to dress as if last night's indiscretion had never happened.

Retracting his gaze, Si Cang Qing walked to the window, gazing up at the hazy sky, where the eastern horizon

was tinged with a faint red.

"Master," Feng Lan approached him from behind and softly asked, "Shall we eat something first before leaving?"

Turning around, Si Cang Qing pulled Feng Lan into his embrace. Looking at the always gentle and considerate

Feng Lan, he silently nodded. Just as Feng Lan could keenly sense his emotional changes, he was also

exceptionally aware of the subtle changes in this person's words and actions. However... he didn't want to

force this person. If there was really something, he would wait for the other party to take the initiative to speak.

Si Cang Qing had never given much thought to those vague and unclear feelings, let alone speculate on

the complex thoughts of those who fell into such emotions.

“Let's go to the front hall." Without pursuing the matter further, Si Cang Qing said in a calm voice.

This place is not close to Hongdu. Cheng Ce's state funeral will last for seven days, which means he will be

buried ten days later. It is a bit tight to arrive in Hongdu within ten days.

Outside the quiet house, two people were sitting on a horse.

Si Cang Qing turned around and looked at everyone, "You all should return to Beijing soon!" Then he looked

at Feng Lan who was forcing a smile.

"Master," Feng Lan forced a smile and said calmly, "We have arranged several post stations along the way.

You don't have to worry about changing horses and resting."

Si Cang Qing stared at him and whispered, "Take care of yourself."

Without saying anything more, he pulled the reins and set off immediately.

"Elder brother……"

Standing behind the crowd, Cheng TianYang suddenly called out, but said nothing else.

Looking back, Si Cang Qing glanced at Cheng TianBi, who was unusually quiet, and then looked at

Cheng TianYang, who was standing there in a daze. He no longer hesitated and just reminded the person behind

him, "Hold me tight."

In the midst of conversation, the galloping steed kicked up a cloud of dust.

The sound of hooves gradually faded away, and soon there was no more movement to be heard. The few people

who had come to see them off stood still without moving. After a while, Cheng TianYang was the first to leave.

Then, Qiu Ping Tian also walked towards the house. However, when he reached Feng Lan's side, he saw

the deep sorrow that this person was trying hard to conceal. A complex emotion flashed in Qiu Ping Tian’s eyes,

vaguely mixed with guilt, but more prominently, an inexplicable determination.

After hesitating for a moment, he whispered, "Your Majesty, please go back!"

"Um."

Turn around and don't waver anymore.

On the official road, two people on a horse galloped past.

There was the sound of wind whistling in his ears. Cheng TianBi hugged the warm body in front of him tightly,

with his face pressed against Si Cang Qing's back. There was a hopeless silence in his pale face.

Looking at the thatched hut getting closer and closer in front of him, with the flags flying high, Si Cang Qing

slowly slowed down and stopped in front of the tea hut. He didn't care about the nearly a day's journey,

but Cheng TianBi must have been unable to bear it for a long time! But that person said nothing.

After stopping, Si Cang Qing realized how bad Cheng TianBi's condition was. His health was already very

poor, and he had not rested during the journey. Coupled with the shock of Cheng Ce's death, he seemed to be

detached from this world, just an empty shell.

His eyes darkened, and Si Cang Qing picked up Cheng TianBi and strode towards the tea stall.

"Would you two like to have some tea or a snack?" The waiter greeted them with a cordial smile, but his eyes

unconsciously drifted towards Cheng TianBi's face.

The people resting were momentarily speechless, curiously sneaking glances at the two who walked in: the

imposing young man, whose face was obscured by a gauze hat, and in his arms, he held a man so beautiful he

seemed otherworldly...

They were all secretly speculating.

Si Cang Qing walked straight to a secluded corner, indifferent to the shabby environment, and casually found

a bench to sit on. His hands moved delicately and gently, carefully adjusting Cheng TianBi into a comfortable

position, leaning against his chest. Then, Si Cang Qing raised his head to look at the waiter who had followed

them all the way. Seeing the waiter staring obsessively at Cheng TianBi, a sudden chill emanated from him.

The young waiter suddenly jolted. He hurriedly bent over and asked, "Sir, would you like some tea, or...?"

"Tea and hot food."

"Alright!" The waiter wiped the cold sweat from his forehead, hurriedly leaving while saying, "Please wait

a moment, esteemed guest!"

With a faint glance at the curious onlookers around, seeing them all carefully retract their probing gazes,

Si Cang Qing finally withdrew the aura he had deliberately released. He lowered his eyes and silently stared at

Cheng TianBi, who was as lifeless as a puppet.

A bit, but I don't understand.

In Si Cang Qing's usually cold eyes, there was a hint of pity, perhaps even he himself was unaware of this

emotion, just looking at Cheng TianBi.

...Cheng Ce's death, does it have such an impact on this person? Far beyond what he could have imagined.

Si Cang Qing raised his hand and stroked Cheng TianBi's back, transferring his true energy into the other

person's body to alleviate their discomfort. Cheng TianBi numbly allowed Si Cang Qing to manipulate him.

With a slight frown, Si Cang Qing recalled this person's state from a while ago. Although this person had

always seemed indifferent to everything in the world since they met, it was still much better than the current

lifelessness. Especially in the past few days, Si Cang Qing had occasionally visited him, listened to him play

the piano, and played chess with him. Cheng TianBi's expression seemed to gradually relax.

On this southern tour, Cheng TianBi's mood was even more obviously cheerful.

Nowadays, it has become like this because of Cheng Ce's death...

Si Cang Qing couldn't understand this feeling. Whether in his past life or this life, his emotions had always

been very faint. In his past life, he had never experienced any emotions since birth. Even when he reunited

with Feng Aozhu in the last few years, he didn't feel any deep parental love. In this life, if it weren't for

Feng Wufei, Wuxin, and Luhuan taking great care of him since childhood, and later for Feng Lan's meticulous

treatment, I am afraid that until now, Si Cang Qing would still be the walking corpse without any emotions,

an empty shell of a human being like in his previous life!

In twenty years of living in this world, Si Cang Qing has changed a bit and gained some emotions, becoming

a person again, but...

He could never imagine, nor could he empathize with the feeling of being pushed into hell by the ones he

loved most dearly. He watched Cheng TianBi's torment with his own eyes, and though he couldn't help but

feel pity, he could never truly understand it.

When Cheng TianBi's complexion slightly improved, Si Cang Qing withdrew his hand and looked at

the steaming dishes already placed on the table, with tea and water poured. He then heard the waiter

respectfully say, "Sir, your tea and meal are ready. Please enjoy!"

This time, the waiter didn't dare to be the least bit presumptuous, diligently finished his tasks, and then

discreetly walked away.

Si Cang Qing picked up the tea and took a sip first. After all, he had been traveling all day and his mouth

was very dry. Before he took the second sip, he found that Cheng TianBi did not move and maintained his

 original posture.

Putting down the teacup in his hand, Si Cang Qing pursed his lips and said, "Eat something to keep your

strength."

Hearing this, Cheng TianBi just shook his head slightly as if unconsciously.

Si Cang Qing stared at the man leaning in his arms. There was a desolation in his beautiful eyes, without

even a trace of sadness. He just stared blankly at an unknown place.

Looking at the steaming tea and food on the table, Si Cang Qing thought for a moment, then reached out and

picked up another cup of tea and brought it to Cheng TianBi's mouth, his movements gentle but unyielding.

Cheng TianBi looked at Si Cang Qing blankly. This was the first time he had looked someone straight in

the face since he got on the horse in a daze this morning.

"Open your mouth!"

A cold voice suddenly rang out, causing Cheng TianBi's body to stiffen slightly. He instinctively opened his

mouth, and the tea was immediately sent into his mouth. It was a bit too rushed, making him choke for a

moment.

"Cough cough cough..."

The hand holding the teacup paused. Si Cang Qing watched as the person in his arms coughed until tears

came out, and, as if giving up, he set the teacup aside. With his other hand free, he gently patted the person's

back.

After quite a while, Cheng TianBi finally stopped coughing. The originally pale complexion flushed with

a faint hint of color, looking somewhat more spirited, but...

Looking into this person's hollow eyes, Si Cang Qing picked up the tea again and brought it to his lips.

Cheng TianBi opened his mouth. This time, Si Cang Qing's movements were much gentler. The warm,

fragrant tea flowed slowly, soothing his dry and painful throat. Unconsciously, he took several more sips

until the dryness and thirst were alleviated.

Previously unaware, immersed in his own emotions, Cheng TianBi had no sense of his physiological needs.

Now, after quenching his thirst with water, he immediately felt a wave of uncomfortable hunger in his

stomach. Before he could react, a pair of chopsticks holding a scoop of white rice were brought to his mouth.

Unconsciously swallowing a mouthful of rice, then being forced to eat a dish that didn't taste very good,

Cheng TianBi blankly raised her eyes and looked at Si Cang Qing, who was slightly bowing his head and

carefully feeding himself: his light-colored thin lips were slightly pursed, giving off an impression of

ruthlessness; his deep-set eyes were always faint, almost devoid of warmth, just focused intently on himself.

The movements of this person's hands, however, are extremely gentle and meticulous.

The somewhat rough food is being slowly put into the mouth...

"Qing," regarding the bizarre situation before her, Cheng TianBi only reacted after almost finishing

the entire bowl of food in front of him. His mind suddenly went blank, and he became flustered,

"Sorry, I was momentarily..."

Not knowing how to explain, Cheng TianBi's face turned red as if it were about to bleed, and he

stammered, "You don't have to do this, I, I can handle it myself..."
