Chapter 3
Chapter 3: There is no Immortal Pavilion in Penglai
The mountain is so high that no clouds can be seen, but one can hear the sight of Penglai. The Tianshan Mountains
stretch between the Canghuan Kingdom and the Guangyu Kingdom. It is said that the legendary sect of Jianghu,
Penglai Pavilion, is hidden within these mountains. However, this is merely a legend, and few have ever found
Penglai Pavilion.
Today, Penglai Pavilion is under the management of the sixteenth generation heir, Feng Wufei. He is skilled in
divination, excels in strategic formations, and possesses extraordinary martial arts. The world calls him
the Penglai Immortal, but very few truly know him.
Jianghu (The martial world), the folks, the common people, the court, and the worldly disputes are all unrelated
to Penglai Pavilion. For this reason, some people also doubt the existence of Penglai Pavilion and
the Penglai Immortals.
At the snow-capped peak of the easternmost summit of Tianshan, white snowflakes occasionally drift down.
A young man dressed in black, with long hair wildly dancing in the wind, appears and disappears.
As he moves his hands, snowflakes gather and scatter far and wide.
After a moment, the young man steadied himself, quietly standing at the mountain peak, gazing down with
indifference.
In the mountains, it has been a hundred years, but in the world, it has been a thousand years.
Ten years, as if in a dream.
Feng Qing gazed eastward into the distance, where the territory of the Canghuan Kingdom lay. He had been
inhabiting the body of the Canghuan prince, living in this world and on this mountain for a full ten years.
The memories and talents of his past life, combined with ten years of effort and practice, have allowed him to
fully master the essence of the Penglai Pavilion's martial arts and internal skills. In addition, he has also learned
the so-called imperial techniques quite thoroughly.
Feng Wufei is nothing but a prodigy, believing that Feng Qing would be the future ruler of this world,
Feng Wufei bestowed upon him everything he could offer and strictly demanded that he complete all the training.
He was originally a wandering soul, so there was nothing wrong with him. He learned everything. Moreover,
now he is the only prince of the Canghuan Kingdom, and power struggles are inevitable; he will not avoid them.
He has never allowed himself to be a weakling.
Since he wants to be strong, he demands himself to be the strongest!
He diligently learned the martial arts and the eight diagram formation branches of the Penglai Pavilion, except
for the art of divination. In his view, the future and fate are in his own hands, and he despises relying on
divination to know his future.
Over the years, although he has been living outside the mortal realm, he has still learned about the world from
Feng Wufei.
Just as he was convinced, the young emperor of the Canghuan Kingdom, Si Cang Juetian, had gradually
established his own power over the past ten years. Although the Qin family and other imperial relatives still
held significant power, occupying nearly half of the court, Si Cang Juetian's situation had improved considerably
compared to the past.
However……
The Qin family seems to be still looking for the missing prince, secretly or openly.
Although Si Cang Juetian holds a certain degree of power, if he has no heirs, the future of the Canghuan
Kingdom will still change hands. Apart from Feng Qing, he only had one daughter, but this princess was
born to the Qin Empress.
The eyelids covered the cold eyes, and Feng Qing secretly mocked in his heart, does this Qin family really
think they can control him? Since he has already become Si Cangqing, he will accept his identity and
responsibilities.
Six years later, when Si Cang Qing comes of age, he will return. By then, he will personally resolve all the
intricate forces of the Qin family.
This Canghuan Kingdom will truly become the territory of the Si Cang family.
And now, this body is already ten years old. According to the agreement between Feng Wufei and the
Si Cang JueTian Shadow Guards back then, it is time for him to go down the mountain and meet them.
◇Cang Huan◇Seven Palaces◇
"Qing'er, be careful on your journey down the mountain," Feng Wufei earnestly instructed in the main hall of
Penglai Pavilion. "Come back after you finish the task."
Looking at the expressionless Feng Qing, Feng Wufei sighed inwardly. Although this child was young, he could
be considered well-rounded in both literary and martial skills. His character was resilient and aloof, proud and
independent. Even he, as the child's master, could not receive much warmth from him.
But, after all, having grown up on this mountain peak for ten years, Feng Qing had never descended the mountain,
so he couldn't help but feel worried.
"I made an agreement with your father that you would return to the palace when you turned sixteen. So this time,
you won't be seeing your father; you will just be reporting your safety to his shadow guards."
Of course, the reality is not so simple. Feng Wufei clearly understands that the current Emperor of Canghuan is
indeed decisive and ruthless. Saying that he is sending this only son down the mountain is merely a test of his
abilities. Feng Wufei believes that Feng Qing must also know the Emperor of Canghuan's intentions, so there is
no need to state it explicitly.
Listening quietly to Feng Wufei's instructions, Feng Qing did not say a word. If it were Si Cangqing, he naturally
had never set foot in the mortal world; but in his previous life, Feng Qing had lived for over twenty years, What
kind of people or difficulties had he not experienced?
His purpose in descending the mountain was to personally investigate the current situation and, more importantly,
to establish his own power at this time. He believed that in six years, he would be able to build a strong force
among the people. In his previous life, he had done it in six years, and even more so in this life. Even though the
so-called father emperor still harbored doubts about him, he would definitely provide the necessary support.
Feng Wufei finally stopped talking and said a little sadly, "Well, Qing'er, take care of yourself along the way."
I'm afraid this separation will take two or three years!
Feng Qing stared steadily at Feng Wufei, the person who had spent the longest time with him in this world and
cared the most about him. He was not as indifferent as he had shown. He slowly spoke, "I will definitely return
within three years!"
He then turned around and walked straight down the mountain.
"Master, take care!" Wuxin and Lu Huan's eyes were slightly red. After saying this, they quickly caught up with
Feng Qing.
Standing at a high vantage point, watching the figures of the three gradually disappear into the vast white snow,
Feng Wufei let out a long sigh and then broke into a hearty laugh: "This world is finally going to change
drastically!"
"Qing'er, I have high hopes for you as your teacher."
Immediately, Feng Wufei's expression changed, and with a bitter face, he muttered, "Wuxin and Luhuan have
both left, who will cook and do the laundry now?"
The green mountains are faint, the green water is far away, and the singing is faintly visible.
The carriage rumbled along the ancient road, and Feng Qing stared blankly at the scenery retreating by the
roadside, lost in thought. On the other side, Luhuan was in high spirits, humming a tune all the way.
"Ah, young master, there's a city ahead!" Lu Huan suddenly exclaimed excitedly. It had been several days since
they had descended the mountain. Since the Tianshan Mountains are located on the border between two countries,
there had been few people after passing the border city. For Lu Huan, who rarely got the chance to come down
the mountain, it was truly not satisfying. At this moment, seeing the city, she couldn't hide her joy.
"Lu Huan," Wuxin whispered reproachfully, glanced at Feng Qing, and then refocused on driving the carriage.
Green Ring secretly stuck out her tongue; she certainly knew that this ten-year-old young master preferred peace
and quiet, but at this moment, she was truly excited.
Feng Qing slowly turned his head, looked straight ahead, and said calmly: "Wuxin, how far is this place from
Lincheng?"
"It's about a month's journey away."
They are here in Jiangxi, while Lincheng is in Jiangdong. Back then, Feng Wufei and Si Cang Jue Tian agreed to
meet in Lincheng, after all, Jiangdong is far from the court and is mostly populated by merchants and people from
the martial world, making it relatively secluded.
Feng Qing thought for a moment, "Stay in the city tonight."
"Yes, young master."
◇Cang Huan◇Seven Palaces◇
Midnight, the Imperial Palace of the Canghuan Kingdom.
The emperor, who had been leaning over his desk, finally lifted his head and looked at the subordinate, "An, has
there been any news from Penglai Pavilion?"
"Your Majesty, the Penglai Immortal has sent a letter saying that the little prince will be arriving in Lincheng soon.
" Anbi replied respectfully.
"Is that so?" Si Cang Juetian replied lightly, his thoughts drifting far away. The Penglai Pavilion originally owed
a condition to the late emperor. Back then, in order to preserve the last royal bloodline, he had to ask Feng Wufei
to come to the rescue. Given Feng Wufei's personality, it was expected that he would save the person and then
not care anymore. However, unexpectedly, Feng Wufei actually requested to personally teach the child.
Considering the situation at the time, leaving the child at Penglai Pavilion was indeed the best choice.
Now, ten years have passed, and the power he once held is no longer comparable to what it was back then.
That supposedly gifted child is also due for some real-world experience. After all, he is going to defend the
territory of the Si Cang family.
And myself…
Thinking of this, Si Cang Juetian couldn't help but give a bitter smile. Not to mention that the Qin family
still occupies half of the court's power, but this body, because of the Gu poison, has become increasingly weak.
Although he always believed that his fate was in his own hands and not in the heavens, he still hoped that,
as Feng Wufei had said, his only son was a once-in-a-thousand-years prodigy.
All he can do is to hold on to this country as much as possible.
"An, how are those orphans doing now?"
"Your Majesty, of the seventy-eight orphans from back then, only thirty-four remain," he said in a low voice,
with his head bowed. "All have met the training requirements."
"Okay," Si Cang Juetian said thoughtfully, "When the young prince arrives in Lincheng and gets Kui's approval,
those thirty-four people will be the young prince's personal guards and will only obey his orders."
Although Feng Wufei praised that child to the skies, he still needed to investigate. As the only son of
Si Cang JueTian, he absolutely could not be an ordinary person.
"This is my handwritten order," Si Cang Juetian handed a secret letter to An, "Ask Kui to give it to the little
prince."
"Yes, Your Majesty, I take my leave."
"Well, retreat!"
As the shadow flickered, the emperor's brows suddenly furrowed tightly, one hand covering his chest,
suppressing a cough. This body is really getting worse and worse…
Traveling day and night for over twenty days, one evening, Feng Qing and his companions finally arrived at
Lin City.
Lin City, a place where wealthy merchants from Jiangdong gather, is naturally much more prosperous and
lively than the cities Feng Qing and the others had passed through before.
"Wow, it's so lively here!" Lu Huan sighed repeatedly as she had never seen so many people before.
The thirty-something person, like a child, leaned over the window, watching the crowds and the shouting vendors.
"Sure enough, Xueding Mountain cannot compare!"
"Young Master," Wu Xin turned around, looked at Feng Qing in embarrassment, and said, "Where are we going?"
Feng Wufei simply told Feng Qing to go to Lincheng to find the Emperor's shadow guard chief, but he didn't
say where to look.
Feng Qing simply said, "Let's find an inn to stay at first."
As for the other problems, he would solve them himself. Is this the "Emperor Father's" test, allowing him to
find the leader in this vast Lin City using his own methods?
"Yes, young master." Wuxin didn't ask any more questions and headed towards the Junyue Inn ahead.
"Sir, would you like to check in?"
The clever voice of the innkeeper came, and Feng Qing stepped down from the carriage, casting a faint
glance around. On the bustling street, the young boy walked briskly towards the inn.
The setting sun casts a golden hue upon him.
