Chapter 161

Chapter 161: Autumn Falls on the Emerald Screen, a Serendipitous

Feeling (Part Two)

Qiu Ping Tian's home was actually located in the suburbs of Luyang City, the capital of Nanjun.

Deep down, Si Cang Qing still harbored some doubts about this person, but since the other party didn't speak

of them, he didn't press the matter. In his eyes, Qiu Ping Tian was simply Qiu Ping Tian; his other identity and

background were irrelevant, even his family… He was inherently cold-hearted and wouldn't normally care about

'insignificant people'.

The mountains stretched endlessly, lush and verdant. Si Cang Qing's carriage chugged along the dirt road,

winding its way up the mountains. The carriage curtain was lifted, revealing a verdant curtain rushing past.

"See those red tiles?" Qiu Ping Tian asked the person inside the carriage in high spirits, "That's Qiu Luo Manor."

He pointed to several mountains ahead and behind, "This entire mountain range belongs to the Qiu family."

"Heh," Qiu Ping Tian's voice suddenly deepened, a low chuckle escaping his lips, "It's been many years since I've

been back to the manor…" Counting, it had been almost ten years, hadn't it? Even when he occasionally came to

Luyang, he hadn't returned home. Even when Qi Shuangran was injured last time, he only escorted him to the

foot of the mountain.

“QingDi, my father is a stubborn old man, and my mother’s personality… is a bit eccentric. You might have to

suffer a bit.”

Seeing the faint smile in the man’s eyes, Si Cang Qing, though puzzled, could only nod.

“I forgot to mention,” Qiu Ping Tian leaned on the man’s shoulder, “I have several younger siblings… who are

quite a headache. Please bear with them these next few days…”

At this, Si Cang Qing suddenly remembered that when he investigated Qiu Ping Tian, it was mentioned that

the man had a younger brother and sister.

“Hehe, now there are four,” Qiu Ping Tian smiled warmly, “Six years ago, a pair of twins were added to the

family… I haven’t seen them yet!”

Hearing this, Si Cang Qing couldn’t help but glance at the man a few more times. Even if he was clueless about

social etiquette, he should know that Qiu Ping Tian’s relationship with his family… was somewhat strange.

“Don’t worry, my dear brother,” Qiu Ping Tian said, sensing his gaze, as he gently wrapped an arm around his

waist. “It was just a petulant outburst.”

As they were talking, they suddenly heard a long neighing of horses outside, and the carriage swayed wildly,

lurching about.

“Master…” came Feng Xiang’s anxious voice from outside the carriage, “The horse has gone mad!”

“Jump out!”

Si Cang Qing acted decisively, scooping up Qiu Ping Tian, cleaving the carriage in two, and leaping out. He spun

in the air before landing, then looked at the frenzied horse, which charged straight into the dense undergrowth

beside the mountain path. With a deafening crash, the carriage was half-destroyed, caught by the bushes, while

the horse neighed and charged down the hillside.

"What happened?" Si Cang Qing asked coldly, staring at the scattered drops of blood on the ground… The horse's

madness clearly indicated it had been hit by a hidden weapon or something similar.

"Reporting to Master…"

Feng Xiang was about to explain when she saw figures flashing through the woods. Two people flew towards

them, one after the other, and in an instant, without a word, they attacked directly.

Carrying Qiu Ping Tian, Si Cang Qing spun to avoid the woman charging from behind. Feng Xiang drew his

sword to parry the other man's twin blades. Si Cang Qing's eyes were icy as he raised his hand to strike the

woman's head.

In that critical moment, Qiu Ping Tian cried out, "Qing...no!"

"Ah!"

Si Cang Qing managed to dodge the palm strike, but the force of the blow was too strong, sending the woman

and the boy who had suddenly broken free from Feng Xiang's grasp flying more than ten feet away.

"Pfft!"

Both immediately coughed up blood. Feng Xiang shifted slightly, and his long sword was already at one of their

necks.

"Big sister, second brother, you..." Qiu Ping Tian hurriedly broke free from Si Cang Qing's embrace and ran to

the injured two to check on them. Seeing them coughing up blood, she cried out anxiously, "QingDi!"

Si Cang Qing frowned slightly and slowly walked over, coldly observing the two sixteen or seventeen-year-old

children.

"They..."

"Xiang," Si Cang Qing said calmly, "Heal their wounds!"

"Yes, Master!"

Unexpectedly, the boy suddenly coughed up blood, then stood up abruptly, his face alarmingly pale. He wiped

the blood from his lips with the back of his hand. "I'm fine, haha, our Blood Oath Village's unique internal energy

technique is very powerful!"

Qiu Ping Tian's worried expression returned when the boy stood up. Hearing the boy's words, he coldly replied,

"Qiu Pingfeng, you're practically courting death!"

"Big brother, don't be angry!" the boy giggled and ran to Qiu Ping Tian's side, then stared at Si Cang Qing with

bright eyes. "Emperor brother's kung fu is so amazing!" He pointed to the boy, who was being helped to sit on

the ground by Feng Xiang, his eyes closed in pain. "He beat sister so badly she can't get up! She always boasts that

her martial arts are second to none!" "

Hearing this, Qiu Ping Tian rubbed his forehead in exasperation, leaning weakly against Si Cang Qing. "QingDi,

I'm sorry you had to see this! My two ignorant younger siblings are such a headache..."

The carriage was ruined, the gifts he'd bought for their parents were gone, and most importantly... Qiu Ping Tian

glanced at his blood-soaked siblings, "When we get to the manor, you'll probably... be in trouble!"

"Yes, yes," the boy, seeing his brother ignore him, darted to Si Cang Qing's other side and naturally took his arm.

"Mother's always so protective! Our Emperor brother hurt us, he'll definitely be in deep trouble... But I'll teach

you a trick to deal with Mother, and that is, ah!"

Suddenly, someone tapped him on the head. The boy fell silent, his big eyes darting back and forth between his

brother and Si Cang Qing.

"Smack!"

Just as the group stood in a tense, silent standoff, the atmosphere thick with unease, the girl suddenly slapped

Feng Xiang, who was sitting directly across from her, across the face. She then cried out in a high-pitched voice,

“You insolent lecher! How dare you grope this lady’s chest!”

Feng Xiang, who had been channeling energy for this person, was caught off guard and took the blow squarely,

leaving him momentarily stunned… He had clearly only been following his master’s orders to help the other

person circulate their qi and blood!

Just as the girl swung her palm again, Feng Xiang swiftly stepped aside; without his master’s command, he could

only evade her attacks.

“Qiu Shuiyao!” Qiu Ping Tian called out coldly. “How long do you intend to keep this up? A young lady like you,

fighting and causing trouble all day long—what kind of example is that?!”

Startled by his rebuke, the girl finally snapped out of it. Just like her younger brother, she let out a little cry and

ran to Qiu Ping Tian, acting coy. “Big Brother, I missed you so much. How could you be so heartless as to not

come home for ten whole years?”

Qiu Ping Tian sighed in exasperation and looked at the wrecked carriage. “You two are really too mischievous!

You were the ones who tampered with that carriage just now, weren’t you? If something had gone wrong, someone

could have been killed!”

Pointing at Qiu Pingfeng, the girl muttered, “It was Second Brother’s idea. He said he wanted to see how good

Emperor Brother’s martial arts really are.” As she spoke, she flashed a wide, ingratiating smile at Si Cang Qing.

“I told you so! Emperor Brother’s martial arts are definitely the best! Emperor Brother, you have to teach Shuiyao

martial arts!”

“That’s not true at all!” Qiu Pingfeng yanked Si Cang Qing’s arm tightly, saying indignantly, “I said Emperor

Brother’s martial arts are definitely the best in the world, but Big Sister insisted that Mother is number one,

she’s number two, and she even said she wanted to give Emperor Brother a taste of his own medicine…”

With a thud, Qiu Pingfeng was hit hard on the head again.

“What nonsense are you spouting?”

“You’re the one spouting nonsense, okay? Just because you see how amazing Brother Emperor’s martial arts are,

you start sucking up…”

“You little brat, how dare you talk to your older sister like that?!”

Seeing that the two children were about to get into a full-blown argument, Qiu Ping Tian raised his hand and gave

each of them a hard smack on the head. “Will you two ever stop? Shuiyao, you turned seventeen today—why are

you still acting like a wild monkey? Isn’t Father the one who places the greatest emphasis on propriety and

etiquette? How did he end up raising you two like this?”

Their older brother’s scolding silenced them instantly. After a long moment, Qiu Shuiyao muttered, “Don’t lecture

us—you left home because you didn’t want to listen to Father’s teachings either!”

Qiu Ping Tian glared at her, and the girl wisely kept her mouth shut.

Meanwhile, Qiu Pingfeng replied gleefully, “Big Brother, you’re so clueless! You just pretend to listen obediently

when Father’s talking. Father’s so lazy—all talk and no action. As soon as he’s gone, you do whatever you want.

Hehe…”

Hearing this, Qiu Ping Tian gave a forced smile and said, “Oh, is that so?”

“Yeah, yeah,” Qui Pingfeng tugged at Si Cang Qing’s sleeve and blurted out, “Emperor Brother, Big Brother

definitely didn’t tell you this, hehe. He refused to obey Father’s discipline, so Mother kicked him right out of the

house!”

“Haha, Big Brother, you’re so embarrassing! ” Qiu Shuiyao squeezed in between Si Cang Qing and Qiu Ping Tian,

mimicking her younger brother by tugging on Si Cang Qing’s arm as she spoke, her eyes sparkling with glee.

Rubbing his forehead in exasperation, Qiu Ping Tian glanced at Si Cang Qing—who was surrounded by his

younger brother and sister—whose brow was furrowing deeper and deeper, and couldn’t help but burst out

laughing. Given Si Cang Qing’s aversion to commotion, he was now forcing himself to endure it out of

consideration for the two children’s status…

“All right, all right,” Qiu Ping Tian said, pulling one of them away with one hand and scowling. “You two just got

injured, yet you still have the energy to be tugging at each other like this. It’s almost dark! Let’s hurry up and

head up the mountain!”

“Hmph, what’s there to be afraid of with a few minor scrapes? I’m the next leader of the Blood Oath Fortress!”

Qiu Shuiyao spoke arrogantly, then turned to glare at Feng Xiang, who had been standing silently behind

Si Cang Qing. “Emperor Brother, who is he?”

Si Cang Qing cast a faint glance at her but gave no reply.

It was only then that the two children belatedly realized that, from start to finish, Si Cang Qing hadn’t spoken a

single word to them.

Scratching his head, Qiu Pingfeng gave an awkward smile and asked cautiously, “Is Emperor Brother… angry?”

As he spoke, he blinked frantically at his older brother.

Qiu Ping Tian, of course, knew exactly what the other was up to—he was simply trying to curry favor with

Si Cang Qing so he could learn his martial arts! These two children, having spent years at Qiu Luo Manor and

picked up a bit of martial arts from their fierce mother, really had no idea how vast the world was.

Not bothering to pay them any mind, Qiu Ping Tian took Si Cang Qing’s hand and smiled broadly. “QingDi, let’s

get going!”

Si Cang Qing nodded slightly, casually pulling him into his embrace. He glanced at the houses faintly visible

amid the lush, layered mountains and murmured, “It’s quite a long way. I’ll use my lightness skills.”

With that, he scooped up Qiu Ping Tian and soared away.

Eyes wide, the sister and brother left behind exchanged a glance. The younger brother spoke up first, exclaiming,

“Wow, what amazing lightness skills! Big Sister, we’ve got to figure out a way to get Emperor Brother to stay at

the mountain villa for a few more days…”

“Silly!” She tapped her younger brother on the head and narrowed her eyes. “When would Emperor Brother ever

have time to stay here? We need to figure out a way to go to the palace with Big Brother!”

“Big Sister, stop tapping me on the head all the time!”

“You little rascal, you really don’t know any better! Speaking of which, I still haven’t settled the score with you

for that last-minute betrayal!”

On the mountain path, the voices of the young boy and girl gradually faded into the distance.

The wind blew, carrying a soft chuckle.
